STAMFORD, CT (October 16, 2025) – At 8:53 AM, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 162 Skyview Drive in the Westover neighborhood of the city.
Engine 9 responded in less than 3 minutes from the Turn of River FD station on Roxbury Rd. Upon arrival, Engine 9 found heavy fire venting from the front door of the single-family home.
Firefighters immediately began extinguishing the main body of fire on the first floor, while others worked to knock down flames that had extended up the interior stairs to the second floor. Additional firefighters ventilated the roof to release smoke and heat from the attic. The fire was placed under control at 9:34 AM with firefighters remaining on the scene an additional hour performing overhaul of remaining hot spots.
The residence was heavily damaged by fire and smoke requiring the relocation of the occupants.
A total of 5 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and both Deputy Chiefs—totaling approximately 40 fire department personnel—operated at the scene.
Additional scene support was provided by the Stamford Police Department, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, Stamford Fire Department safety & administrative staff, and the Stamford Fire Department Mechanical Division.
