Stamford, CT. 11/13/18: An early morning Glenbrook fire damaged a gazebo and home on Oscar Street. At 3:54 AM the city 9-1-1 center received multiple calls reporting a gazebo fire at the rear of 12 Oscar Street. Arriving firefighters found a fully involve gazebo fire that had extended to the rear of the 2 1/2 story wood frame single family home. Firefighters stretched a hoseline and extinguished  the fire on the exterior of the home before extinguishing the gazebo fire. A second hoseline was stretched into the home while members checked for extension into the home.The fire had not penetrated into the home and was found to only involve the exterior siding and sheathing. The fire was declared under control at 4:14 AM. The three occupants of the home had evacuated prior to fire department arrival and suffered no injuries. A total of five engine companies, including one from the Glenbrook Fire Department, one truck company, the heavy rescue company, and the duty deputy chief responded with a total of 29 firefighters. Stamford Police provided traffic control and Stamford EMS stoodby as there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the city fire marshal's office. The final fire department unit left the scene at 5:43 AM.
