2015-06-25_22-26-34Stamford – On Thursday, June 25, 2015 at approximately 2:29 pm the Stamford Emergency Communications Center received a telephone request from the Pound Ridge Fire Department to send the dive team into the town of Pound Ridge. The Technical Rescue Task Force consisting of Rescue Company # 1 and Engine Company # 5 were immediately dispatched along with a safety officer and incident commander.

Upon arrival on the scene the Pound Ridge fire officials stated that a person went missing in the water and a possible location was found. Four divers from Rescue Company # 1 donned SCUBA gear. The first diver from Rescue Company # 1 entered the water and was able to locate the victim within minutes. The three other divers assisted in removing the victim from the water.

The events leading up to this incident are currently under investigation by the Pound Ridge Police Department in cooperation with the New York State Police.
