  • This afternoon, Stamford firefighters installed a new sign at our Drill Field in honor of past Fire Chief Charles R. McRedmond. Chief McRedmond was instrumental in establishing the training facility at the present location in 1973.   • Stamford Engine 7 operating at a multi-agency tanker drill last night on Thornwood Road. Personnel from Stamford FD, Long Ridge FD, Turn of River FD, Belltown FD, New Canaan FD, Darien FD, Noroton Heights FD, and Vista (NY) FD worked together to achieve a continuous supply and flow of water for a simulated structure fire in the area.
