On November 24, 2013, at 21:20 Hrs., Stamford Fire Department Units responded to and quickly contained a fire in the furnace room at 55 Stamford Ave., in the Shippan section of Stamford.  The first arriving units made an aggressive interior attack, knocking down the fire within a matter of minutes.  The fire was contained to the room of origin, and is currently under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office.  4 Engines, 1 Truck, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Shift Commander and aide, 1 Safety Officer, and 1 Fire Marshal responded.  No injuries were reported, and all units cleared the scene at 22:24 Hrs.
