A fully involved garage fire was extinguished on the East Side shortly after midnight at 00:27, Monday 3/30/2026. Stamford Fire Department responded with 4 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 1 Rescue Truck and an Incident Commander with 26 fire personnel and arrived at 00:31 and found a 10 ft. x 20 ft. wood frame garage storing landscaping equipment fully involved with fire. The exterior of an exposed residence at 60 Myrtle Avenue was beginning to burn as well. The main body of fire in the garage was quickly knocked down and the exposure was wet down and overhauled to prevent further extension. The multi-family residence at 14 Gregory Street also suffered exterior damage from the fire. 19 people from 60 Myrtle Avenue have been temporarily displaced and were being relocated with assistance from the American Red Cross. The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
