The 11-Year Member Launched the Department’s Very Successful Child Car Seat Installation Program

The Stamford Fire Department is honored to announce Firefighter Christopher Forman as the 2025 Firefighter of the Year. Firefighter Forman is recognized for his outstanding service, leadership, and community impact. An 11-year member, Chris launched the department’s Child Car Seat Installation and Safety Education Program, which has installed hundreds of car seats and provided citywide education to families on proper child-passenger car seat safety.

As a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, Firefighter Forman combines technical expertise with a compassionate, hands-on style, offering flexible scheduling, organizing community events, and ensuring that families acquire the knowledge and confidence to safeguard their children. Firefighter Forman’s work has measurably improved correct car-seat usage and has already saved lives, including that of a child who emerged uninjured from a serious collision thanks to a seat installed by his team.

Beyond this life-saving program, Firefighter Forman has been temporarily serving as the Northern District Deputy Chief’s Aide and demonstrates a strong commitment to service and professional development. He actively pursues training, shares his expertise, and mentors newer firefighters, promoting excellence and teamwork across the department while inspiring continuous improvement in himself and others.

Away from the firehouse, Chris is a devoted husband, dedicated father of three, a little league baseball coach, and a proud New York Mets fan. His commitment to family and community reflects great credit upon himself and aligns with the highest standards of the Stamford Fire Department and the City of Stamford.

For his tireless advocacy, dedication to public safety, and steadfast leadership, Firefighter Christopher Forman is proudly recognized as the 2025 Stamford Firefighter of the Year. Firefighter Forman was formally recognized with this honor, along with firefighters from across the state, at the Exchange Club of Connecticut's “Salute to Connecticut's Bravest Dinner” on Thursday, October 16th at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
