At 06:14hrs on 7/5/2025, a resident on the 6th floor of 750 Summer Street called 911 due to an audible fire alarm going off in the resident’s apartment.  Stamford Fire units arrived on scene to investigate.  The building’s central station alarm system was not activated.  Crews met the occupant in his apartment and noticed an odor and slight haze of smoke with the unit’s local alarm sounding.  Fire crews activated the buildings alarm system to alert the other residents to evacuate.  Crews could not find a cause for the odor and smoke on the 6th floor.  The floor below was checked and fire crews found a fire actively burning in a 5th floor apartment.  The fire was able to be quickly extinguished with a water can.  The Fire Marshal’s Office responded, and the incident is under investigation.  No residents or firefighters were injured, and the building was able to be reoccupied.
