Early Morning Two-Alarm Residential Structure Fire in Springdale

STAMFORD, CT (January 24, 2024) – At 05:04 AM, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire at 34 Camelot Court in the Springdale neighborhood of Stamford.

Engine Co. 7 from the Springdale fire station arrived first at the scene and found a significant volume of fire involving the garage area. Due to the configuration of the home, fire extended upward into the living space above the garage requiring multiple hose lines to confine and extinguish.

The fire was placed under control at 06:31 AM with several fire companies remaining at the scene to perform overhaul and salvage duties.

The sole occupant of the home was asleep at the time of the fire, but was alerted by an activated smoke detector. The occupant self-evacuated and was uninjured. The American Red Cross provided relocation services to the owner.

A total of 8 Engine Companies, 2 Truck Companies, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and the Shift Commander operated at the scene with a total of 50 career and volunteer personnel.

One firefighter sustained a minor injury while operating at the fire. The firefighter was transported to Stamford Hospital for evaluation.

Additional scene support was provided by the Stamford Police Department, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, the Stamford Fire Department Training Division, and the Stamford Fire Department Mechanical Division.
