RESIDENTIAL STUCTURE FIRE IN SPRINGDALE

STAMFORD, CT (November 6, 2023) – At 7:05 PM, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 58 Crestview Avenue in the Springdale neighborhood. 

The first-arriving fire company from the nearby Springdale Fire Station arrived at the scene in less than three minutes and found fire visible from the front windows and doorway of a raised-ranch style residence. 

Springdale firefighters immediately began to extinguish the fire as additional Stamford fire companies arrived on scene to provide assistance. Two occupants of the home at the time of the fire were able to safely evacuate on their own and were not injured.

The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes of the initial arrival. Firefighters remained on scene for an additional 2 hours performing overhaul and salvage duties.

A total of 5 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, and the Shift Commander operated at the scene with a total of 40 career and volunteer personnel.

There were no injuries to firefighters working at the scene.

Additional scene support was provided by the Springdale Fire Company, Stamford Emergency Medical Services, the Stamford Fire Department Training Division, the Stamford Fire Department Mechanical Division, and the Stamford Police Department.

The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
