  • Recruit Class 19-01 engine ops training this week.
  • Recruit Class 19-01 engine ops training ongoing all week. Instructors were able to quickly fab a movable obstacle course to adjust to various types of hose stretches encountered. #stamfordfiredepartment #stamford #connecticut #firefighting
  • Recruit Class 19-01 engine company operations training underway today. Today was the first of many days that the recruits will work specifically on advancing and managing hose lines. #stamfordfiredepartment #stamford #connecticut
  • Earlier today, the 11 members of Stamford Fire Dept. Recruit Class 19-01 attended the funeral service for Worcester (MA) Fire Lt. Jason Menard. Lt. Menard was killed in an early morning fire last Wednesday. The Stamford Recruit Firefighters were joined by active & retired Stamford firefighters, as well as, thousands of firefighters from across the U.S. & Canada. Following the service, the recruit class traveled to the location of the fire to pay additional respects to Lt. Menard. #stamfordfiredepartment #stamford #connecticut
  • A quick response this afternoon by firefighters from Engine 4 contained a vehicle fire in a parking lot on Elm Street from spreading to nearby vehicles or businesses. Damage limited to vehicle of origin and minor damage to adjacent parked vehicle. #stamfordct #stamford #stamfordfiredepartment #stamfordfire
  • Stamford Recruit Fire Academy Class 19-01 began their formal training today and are expected to graduate in mid-February 2020. We wish them the best of luck as they move forward with their training. #stamfordfiredepartment #stamford #connecticut
  • Stamford FD Truck 1 providing assistance this morning for the Brian Bill Legacy Ride. Brian Bill was a Stamford native and Navy Seal, who was killed in August 2011 in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter crash in the Wardak province, Afghanistan.
