The Stamford Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of active Stamford Firefighter Eddie Palitz. The following is his public obituary.

Edward C. Palitz Sr. age 68 passed away Tuesday December 31st 2013. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Stamford Connecticut; firefighter at Glenbrook Fire Department for over 30 years and Chief Engineer. He was the son of, John Palitz and Margaret (Bella) Palitz. Brother of John S. G. Palitz. Edward is survived by his wife Paula Palitz, daughter Carla Palitz DeLeo, son Edward Palitz Jr. and three grandchildren; Thomas Jr., Jenna, and Michael DeLeo.

A tribute of his life, service to the community and dedication to his family and friends will be held on Saturday January 4th 2014 from 3-7 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St. Stamford CT 06905. A prayer service will begin at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Stamford Firefighters Burn Foundation, Attn: D/C Conroy, 629 Main St., Stamford, CT 06901.
