It is with deep regret that the Stamford Fire & Rescue Department announces the passing of retired Fire Lieutenant and Public Safety Dispatcher Walter Finch. Walt succumbed to his battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday January 3rd. Our thoughts and prayers are with Walt’s family during this difficult time.

The wake is January 6, 2010 from 4-8 pm at Cognetta’s Funeral Home. Cognetta’s is located at 104 Myrtle Avenue in Stamford. Class A uniform is requested for all Stamford Fire & Rescue Employees but is not required.

The funeral service and burial will be private.
